Glenvalley Reserve Playspace

Upgrade of Glen Valley Playspace for Yarra Ranges Council. The design aims to create an inclusive and sustainable community park that accommodates individuals with medium mobility.

Key objectives include preserving the existing topography while ensuring wheelchair-accessible slopes, utilizing cost-effective and eco-friendly materials, and maintaining natural drainage systems like swales.

The park features amenities such as a water fountain and serve as a vibrant community garden, promoting social interaction and recreational activities among local residents.

Additionally, landscaping includes shrubs and groundcover for privacy, safety, and aesthetics, while existing trees will be retained to enhance the natural environment.

The design addresses level differences and drainage requirements of the site through the gradual slope of pathways, low height retaining walls, mudstones and mounds. These elements ensures the safety between green pockets with steep level difference while also ensuring the interesting play of landscape.
