Cycle Centre Nodes - Warburton Rail Trail & Yarra Valley Trail
Council is committed to developing acclaimed cycling trails, with a significant network including the Warburton Rail Trail. The 40+ kilometre long trail has become a favourite of many cyclists as it offers well maintained trails that lend themselves to cyclists of all levels. Lilydale is the gateway to the Yarra Valley and as such can expect more bicycle tourist activity.
AQL partnered with Yarra Ranges Council to design and construct the Cycle Centre Nodes, supporting cycling through the provision of infrastructure such as cycle repair and maintenance stations, drinking fountains, shelter, bike parking, charging points for electric bikes and mobile devices.
The design theme is a rustic appeal to suit the existing rail trail landscape. Incorporating second hand red brick/recycled, rustic Yarra Ranges Council custom furniture, mudstone rockwork. The shelter has a contemporary industrial look to suit the industrial estate. E-0bike chargers are provided and are the first for Yarra Ranges shire.
